The annual Saanich Fair is an opportunity to see rabbits, sheep and alpaca up close, including demonstrations of sheep shearing and a fleece judging component this year. As always, guild members will be presenting a Sheep to Shawl demonstration on Saturday & another spinning demonstration on Sunday in the tent behind the main building. Guild members are welcome to participate in either of these days (contact email@example.com if you wish to participate but have not signed up.
There is also a display of handweaving and spinning in the Needle Arts room. Members who would like to display one or more items in this show must fill out an entry form in the Caralogue which should be available soon (today is July 5) on the Fair website saanichfair.ca Printed copies of the Prize List Catalogue is available at our office (Mon - Fri 9 am - 4 pm) and Sidney Library, Tanner's Books, Michell's Market, Brentwood Bay Library, Buckerfield's, Commonwealth Pool, Borden Mercantile, Oak Bay Recreation, Willow Wind Feed & Tack, Elk Lake Garden, Integrity Sales, Red Barn on West Saanich.
The form can be mail or delivered to the fairgrounds (usually by mid-August). The items you enter are delivered to the fairgrounds August 30. We will have a drop-off at the Drop-In on August 27 for those who don't want to drive to the fairgrounds.
