Glimakra Countermarche Loom 120cm/47″ – $1000
This loom is approximately 50 years old, and has been used fairly consistently throughout that time. They are built to last, and you will be able to tell that it is a well cared for and well used loom with signs of it’s use, but still in good working order.
I have woven hundreds of handspun scarves and blankets on it, and the wood is burnished through use. The previous owner, Karen Casselman (Well known for writing books on lichen dying) has also left her mark on it as well, with some of the heddles having been dyed lichen purple.
Included with the loom are everything you would need to start weaving with it:
8 Harness Loom, 10 Treadles
Texsolve heddles and tie-up cords
Warping Board (cracked)
6 Reeds: 4, 6, 8, 9, 10., 16 EPI (poor condition, but still usable)
+ more accesories
There are a few minor missing pieces that can be easily replaced such as screws to hold the seat on the bench(it is still sturdy without)
You can see the company’s product website at:

We have a small farm on Sparton Rd in Saanich and have recently sheared our four sheep and have bags of wool from the three alpaca we sheared two years ago. We were hoping to find someone willing to process our wool into yarn ( it’s raw fleece just now). We are happy to discuss payment or trade. I’m also happy to learn the trade from you if I can ! Thanks so much for considering … Alexandra and Simon
