The deadline to enter the Saanich Fair has now passed. If you have entered items in the Fair and would like them delivered to the Fairgrounds (August 31), come to the Drop-In at St. Luke’s with your items, appropriately labelled and we will collect them and arrange for them to be delivered for you.

Time to fill out the Entry Form to get your work entered into the Saanich Fair – Needle Arts Display!! Deadline is August 17!! Full details see: Saanich Fair – Guild Activities at the Fair

The Saanich Fair is an annual agricultural fair that has been running for over 150 years. There is a Needle Arts room where needle arts and crafts are exhibited (much like agricultural products, animals, preserves, flowers, etc) and “judged” for prizes at the fair. The main point is to Exhibit crafts – including spinning, weaving, knitting, crochet, embroidery, quilting, rug making, and more for the public to come and see and learn about all of these arts. Entry fees are very small (this year $1) and prizes are a few dollars – so one doesn’t “get rich” in money – but you can contribute to create a more impressive display of our fibre arts – spinning, weaving, etc.

Deadline for entry fees is Thursday, August 17th. The printed catalog and an online entry form is available at Saanich Fair website. If you fill out the entry form online, you can use a credit card to pay the entry fee. Otherwise, fees may be sent in with a Money Order, or acceptable Cheque, made payable to North & South Saanich Agricultural Society by August 17.

If you enter items (you MUST register by August 17) but aren’t able to get your items to the Fair on Thursday, August 31st, 2023 between 2 and 8 pm Juniper/Needle Arts Room, someone (Laura Proctor this year) will be at the August Drop-In, August 29 to collect items that will then be delivered for you to the Fair. You can pick up your items after 6 pm Monday (or arrange to have someone else pick them up – let Laura know if you would like you items collected for you.)
