Beginning Spindle Spinning Workshop – November 8 & 22

Two meetings, 2.5 hours total. In the first meeting, we will learn about fibre types and fibre tools, and will learn the basics of turning sheep fleece into yarn. I expect you to practice making yarn between the two meetings. In the second, we will learn about plying on your spindle and finishing yarns for knitting or weav- ing. You may bring your own spindle or borrow one for the duration of the class. Spinning fibre provided. Class will be held at instructor Sarah Thornton’s house near UVic.
