In-person Drop-In
The in-person Drop-In meeting begins at 7:00 pm on the LAST Tuesday of each month at St. Luke’s Church Hall, 3821 Cedar Hill Cross Road. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Visitors do not have to register. Just turn up and introduce yourself. These informal monthly gatherings allow members to meet, talk, work, share information or plan activities. This is an opportunity to bring your spinning wheel, knitting or other project to work on while you visit.
There is no “business meeting”, but some evenings will feature a special demonstration or display where members share their knowledge in a more structured way.
Virtual Drop-In
Virtual Drop-In is a great social opportunity for weavers, folks who prefer not to drive at night, and those who live further away to get together. Guests are welcome!
The Virtual Drop-In is held from 7 to 9 pm on the SECOND TUESDAY of every month. Zoom invitations will be sent to all guild members. Non-members who wish to join in can contact dropin@vhwsg.ca to request an invitation.
Either of these informal evenings provides a chance to get questions answered. If you have equipment you don’t know how to use, materials you can’t identify or wonder how to use, have a pattern you don’t understand or another question, this is the place to ask . (Members can also use our private Facebook group to ask questions.)
There will sometimes be a theme for the In-person Drop-in evening in that we will invite members with particular skills to come and share their knowledge in an informal way. Others are invited to contribute their questions and/or answers. Special interest groups may also arrange to get together at the Drop In. Activities planned will be posted on the website calendar and mentioned in the newsletter when possible.
Drop-In is also a good time to get to know other members in a casual environment. Non-members may find this a good time to become familiar with what we do in the Guild and consider joining, so please encourage interested folks to come by. Join in to meet other members and share/improve your skills.
