Our guest speaker for this month will be Kimberly Nelson, known for the last ten years as The Artful Acorn, is a curiosity driven natural fibre artist. When not working full-time for a non-profit agency, she indulges in tiny basketry, cordage making, nålbinding, knitting, tablet weaving, embroidery, hand-sewing, felting, singlade bollar stitching, multi-strand braiding, bead collecting, plant material foraging, and other obsessive pursuits. Kimberly has taught hundreds of students a variety of traditional crafts, and recently had a piece about nålbinding published in a feature article in an international magazine. She lives in a small house with her two kids, two cats, and a ridiculous quantity of yarn and dried dandelion stems. Kimberly looks forward to sharing her passion for natural cordage and tiny basketry with you at the April guild meeting!
